Economy
Unlike most of the middle east the Turkish economy has never had any dependence on oil, because of this Turkey has little to do with the conflict between nations for petroleum. Instead Turkey was a major producer of textiles and of metals. A crash in their economy caused many coups and lots of anger in the people. Their government became unstable and had trouble regaining the stability it once had. In the modern day though it seems that Turkey has made a huge advancement towards the production of cars and has lessened the dependence on Textiles
